Since its founding in 1912 as a traditional stock brokerage firm, Conning has focused on serving the investment needs of its clients. As these needs evolved, the company moved swiftly to provide customized products and services to help clients improve their capital efficiency and return potential. Conning is headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, with offices in New York, London and Dublin.

Conning's existing document sales tracking software was not able to meet the demands of their growing business. Accounting and financial reports were difficult to generate from the system, and the complex user interface led to error prone data entry.

Conning contracted Summit Technologies to design a new system to fit their expanding needs. Summit created a new data model to satisfy all on-line and reporting requirements along with new application screens and processes in order to make the system as intuitive and user-friendly as possible. Summit then migrated the original system’s data to the new system and performed full system testing to ensure data integrity. Summit also designed, built and tested sets of accounting and financial reports.

When the new system was put into production, users enjoyed its more efficient workflow and functionality, including greatly improved reporting times. A significant drop in the number of data entry errors was also seen.
