NAVY: INFORMATION ASSURANCE SUPPORT

As a member of the Harris Corporation's team, Summit is providing IT Information Assurance and technical support services for security efforts for the NAVY's CONUS & OCONUS sites. The Summit team is utilizing the Department of Defense's (DOD) Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) model, to provide a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M). The POA&M is developed after the team runs various network scans and completes an analysis of the scan results against the existing Information Assurance documentation to create a gap analysis for each customer site location.

Individual tasks utilized to create the gap analysis include:

• Perform DISA Gold Disk and eRetina network servers scans to ensure compliance
• Assess the performance of IA controls including researching, evaluating and providing status of IA controls within DIACAP
• Documentation and the implementation of DISA STIG(s);
• Evaluate potential IA security risks and recommends corrective action;
• Develop reports stating the findings during the team's site visit scans and inspections to ensure systems, networks and data users follow networking environment and IA policies.
