HELP DESK - TIER 1
Summit Technologies, Inc. has employment opportunities for a
Help Desk - Tier 1 to work in Arlington, VA.
The position requires that you be a U.S. Citizen with and able
to obtain a government Public
Trust clearance.
Provides support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe, or
web based applications and hardware. Resolves escalated
problems. Interacts with network services, software systems
engineering, and/or applications development to restore service
and/or identify and correct core problem. Simulates or recreates
user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Analyzes and
recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems.
Ability to maintain current and highest level of technical skill
in field of expertise.
- Perform military base-level communications coordination efforts telephonically in support of hardware and application implementation, address security issues as identified, and maintain the appropriate information in the automated trouble ticket system.
- Telephonically support the user community by troubleshooting network connectivity issues with base facility infrastructure teams. (VPN connections, routers, and firewall administration devices)
- Candidates should have knowledge of data communications
protocols and utilities (TCP/IP).
- Candidates should have knowledge of LAN/WAN hardware
components (routers, switches, DSU/CSU, Cat5).
- Requires knowledge of PC and peripheral devices (card
readers, printers, keyboard, mouse, monitor, digital
cameras, and other associated hardware).
- Must have at least one year experience using ticketing
system applications.
- Must have experience troubleshooting problems
telephonically.
- Must have strong working knowledge of the Windows XP,
Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and 2008 environments.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and prior experience with troubleshooting leased line problems plus
- Must be able to obtain ADP level II trust agreement.
- Associates degree or equivalent
- Should be able to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT cert such as Security+.
Will be required to pass a thorough background investigation, including possibly a credit check and drug screening.
