Typical Information Protection Security Engineers must be experts in one or more of the following technical areas:

  • Internet/network and firewalls
  • Web Server/OO/N-Tier systems development
  • SSO/Smartcards Tech
  • Certificate Authorization/PKI/LDAP Dire
  • Services; NT; Unix; MVS/ACF2 etc.
  • Understanding of IT security within SME area

Knowledge of technical architecture, development and application development methodologies from a security perspective. Strong networking security understanding in multi-protocol LAN/WAN environment. Strong understanding of host and network intrusion detection and monitoring methodologies. Demonstrated ability to understand and address business needs from a security perspective. Technology controls assessment experience such as IT audit. Ability to communicate security issues in business context. Demonstrated understanding industry information protection issues and environment. Strong analysis and resolution skills. Ability to remain current on emerging technologies. Ability to plan, organize and lead project activities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Big 5 security consulting or equivalent work experience is a plus.

 

Responsibilities

 

Candidate will develop and maintain information security policy, standards and procedures for division and support mandatory requirements. Leads and participates in selection of IT security products for reliable and cost effective business solutions. Maintains subject matter expertise and engineering support of techniques, practices and standards. Works on project teams and lead evaluation of emerging technologies. Keeps abreast of technical architecture direction for areas of expertise established by Technology Group. Participates in development and regular updating of procedures and requirements for security incident response and participates in development of SIRT testing methodology. Analyzes business and technical requirements for security systems and selects products for areas of expertise to become part of company-wide standards.
